ಪುತ್ತೂರೆಂಬ ಈ ಸಣ್ಣ ಊರಿನ ಹಿರಿಮೆ ಗರಿಮೆಗಳ ಕಿರೀಟಕ್ಕೆ ಅನೇಕ ಗರಿಗಳಿವೆ. ಪುತ್ತೂರು ಎಂದಾಕ್ಷಣ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಮಹಾಲಿಂಗೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ, ಶಿವರಾಮ ಕಾರಂತರ ಬಾಲವನ, ಕ್ಯಾಂಫ್ಲೋ ಚಾಕಲೇಟು ಫ್ಯಾಕ್ಟರಿ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಪುತ್ತೂರು ಕಡಲ ತೀರದ ಭಾರ್ಗವ ಡಾ. ಶಿವರಾಮ ಕಾರಂತರ ಕರ್ಮಭೂಮಿ. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪುತ್ತೂರಿಗೊಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸ್ಥಾನವಿದೆ. ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನ ಮಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶದ, ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹೆಸರಾಂತ ದೃಶ್ಯಕಲಾವಿದರು ಉದ್ಭವಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನ ದೃಶ್ಯಕಲಾವಿದರು ಬಹಳ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನಿಂದ ಪುಟಿದೆದ್ದು ಬಂದ ದೃಶ್ಯ ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಎಷ್ಟಿದೆಯೆಂದರೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರ ಪರಿಚಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕಿರಿಯರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಮತ್ತು ಈಗಿನ ಜನರೇಷನ್ನಿನ ಕೆಲ ಕಿರಿಯರಿಗೂ ನಮ್ಮೂರಿನ ಹಿರಿಯ ದೃಶ್ಯಕಲಾವಿದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಾಸಾಧನೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಬೆಳೆದು ದೊಡ್ಡವರಾದ, ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇರುವ ಮತ್ತು ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಪರವೂರಿನಲ್ಲೂ ಇರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಲಾವಿದರನ್ನೂ ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವಾಗಿ, ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನ ಕಲಾವಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪರವೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನ ಕಲಾವಿದರಿಗೆ, ಹಾಗೂ ಕಲಾಪ್ರೇಮಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಈ ವೇದಿಕೆ
